The Arab Union for Administrative Judiciary held the sixth meeting of the General Assembly today, Monday, in Cairo, headed by Counselor Adel Fahim Mohamed Azab - President of the State Council, and in the presence of the heads of state councils, the heads of the supreme administrative courts and their representatives, and participating delegations from the member states of the Arab Union for Administrative Judiciary.
After discussing the agenda, the Union’s General Assembly took a number of decisions that would improve the Union’s activity and maximize its role during the next phase, including:
- Approval of the appointment of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain as President of the Union for a period of two years in accordance with the statute document, and thus the Administrative Court of the Republic of Tunisia became Vice President of the Union.
- The Union’s executive office was also reconstituted to become:
• The State of Bahrain as President.
• The State of Tunisia as a representative.
• The State of Egypt is a member.
• The State of Iraq is a member.
• The UAE is a member.
- Authorizing the President of the Egyptian State Council to organize the General Secretariat of the Union.
- Approval of the appointment of a Secretary-General and Assistant Secretary-General of the Union.
- Approval of the draft regulations of the Arab Academy for Administrative Judiciary and the establishment of its branches in member states.
- Approval of developing and raising the efficiency of the Union’s website.
- Approval of establishing a headquarters for the Union in the State Council building in New Cairo.
This is within the framework of the directives of the Counselor, President of the State Council of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to promote and develop the activities of the Arab Union for Administrative Judiciary and to maximize its role during the coming period so that the Union can achieve the goals desired by its establishment.
